The Roman treasure at the Vlootbeek
Here, in 2009, an amateur archaeologist found a Roman treasure nearly 2,000 years old: 65 silver and six gold coins from the year 69 AD. The Batavian Revolt then caused great unrest in this region. Who would have hidden their money here? Five of these coins can be found here magnified next to the Vlootbeek. Follow the path to the little wall by the road. From the wall you have a nice view of Montfort's rural panorama.
