Walking through wartime history
With the free IZI Travel app, you’ll hear more about life during the war, hiding places and escape routes. Along the walk, you’ll pass a monastery that during the war served as a refuge for Jewish refugees, orphans from Rotterdam and Catholic priests. You’ll also see a reconstructed tank ditch and trenches that show what the frontline looked like.
Remembering and reflecting
At several places along the route, you pause at personal stories from eyewitnesses, told via the IZI Travel app. You pass places where people hid in old factory ovens, and graves of those who didn’t survive the war. An impressive walk that invites reflection.
