Hiking through nature and history
The Walsberg route starts at the cosy Markt in Beesel and takes you through a varied landscape. You hike through rural areas, along the Meuse river and through the Walsberg woods. Along the way, you pass ‘t Spick, a quiet nature reserve where you can enjoy the surroundings for a while. The route offers beautiful views, including a panoramic view of the Meuse.
Castle Nieuwenbroeck and Beesel
On the way back, you walk through the village of Beesel, known for its artisan atmosphere and rich history. A highlight of the route is Nieuwenbroeck Castle, a beautiful estate with a long history. From here you walk back towards the Markt, where you can reminisce on one of the terraces.
Starting points and underground Walsberg route
The Walsberg Route officially starts at the Market square in Beesel, but you can also start from the rear entrance of holiday park De Lommerbergen. The route goes along both paved roads and forest paths and is passable in all seasons.
